Walnut Wood: Walnut is one of the most widely used cabinet-making timbers, prized for its warm chocolate-brown tone and straight, even grain — see walnut wood for its long history in furniture-making. It gives the shells and base a softer, more traditional look that suits a wide range of interiors.

Palisander Wood: Palisander is the trade name long used for dense, dark-grained rosewood species, prized for their reddish-brown tone and fine, wavy grain. It deepens with age, giving the shells and base a darker, more formal finish.

Ash Wood: Ash is a pale, light-toned hardwood valued for its strong, straight, prominent grain — see ash wood for its long use in furniture and tool handles. It gives the shells and base a lighter, contemporary look that suits brighter interiors and Scandinavian-style rooms.

Hand-Sewn, Welted Ivory White Aniline Leather

Cushions are upholstered in soft, full-grain Aniline leather in Ivory White, hand-sewn with a welted, piped edge and filled with fire-resistant foam. Aniline leather keeps the hide’s natural surface rather than masking it with a heavy pigmented coating, so the finish stays soft to the touch and develops character over time.

Layer Laminated Veneer Shell

The seat, backrest and armrests are built from bent plywood finished with an 8-layer laminated wood veneer in your chosen finish, engineered to resist cracking or warping over years of use. Rubber-and-metal shock-mount connections join the shell to the frame, absorbing everyday flex instead of transferring it to the joints.

360° Swivel Base — Aluminium Chair, Steel Ottoman

The chair swivels a full 360° on a 5-star aluminium base; the ottoman sits on a matching 4-star steel base. Both are finished in black and ship with the tools needed for self-assembly, typically completed in 1–2 hours. Backed by a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty and produced in limited quantities alongside the rest of the House of Furnishes Premium XL collection.
